Hello friends. I'm going to do the first installment of the power rankings. In the past we have had a carousel of people doing the power rankings and I think it would be fun to do it that way again. So once you have done the power rankings you pick someone to do the next weeks version. This gives us some insight on how everyone in the league thinks the teams stack up while also allowing everyone to be a participant in the power rankings. So without further adieu here are the Power Rankings.
#1 My Big Unit - This team has hit well so far and hasn't been devastated by his pitching yet. With a deep roster injury issues shouldn't hurt him as the season progresses. Look for Elmer to lead his team into the playoffs and fight for the championship this year.
#2 Shapeshifting Slamhitters? - While the team name changes from week to week the points from his hitting stays consistently white hot! If the pitching comes around for this team and the batters continue to smash then it will be tough beating this team for a title.
#3 The Art of WAR - This team took the opposite approach. Really good and really reliable pitching is fueling this team while he waits for his bats to heat up. Once that happens teams will have a tough time against The Art of WAR. Playoff bound barring some surprise Tommy John customers.
#4 Nakatomi Trading Corp - Despite the overall record this team has been heating up over the past few weeks and is looking more and more like a tough team. If the hitting continues to heat up this team could overcome the shaky start and make a nice playoff run.
#5 Freeman's Seamen - Sporting the most unlucky team in the league with the most points scored against him this team is still nothing to scoff at. With a bit better break in luck in the future this team could continue producing and the same level and rattle off multiple wins in a row.
#6 Cobb County Braves - This team started off incredible slow but things have been heating up lately. If the pitching starts to stabilize and the bats continue heating up expect to see cobb move up in the rankings.
#7 Fresh Meat - A nice middle of the pack floor to this team and a ceiling that could reach into the top 4 teams. When things click this team is dangerous. When they dont this team could struggle.
#8 Smoking Trees - This team hits well but the pitching is dragging them down. He has made moves to strengthen his pitching and if that pans out this team can get on a hot streak quickly.
#9 Vandelay Industries - This team hits well and the pitching isnt that far behind. I think some of the hitters have gotten off to some strong starts and will begin to cool down but if they dont this team could start to get the ball rolling.
#10 Durham Dogs - A team that started the year hot, although against some weaker competition at the time. The owner decided to kick off into sell mode a little early in my opinion but to each their own. There is definitely still some fight left in these dogs XD but the strong fire is burned down a bit.
#11 Chico's Bail Bonds - Gotta give credit where it is due. An extremely strong minors system, and a scrappy thrown together major squad. This team wont compete for a title but it could dash a few teams title hopes down the stretch.
#12 Buffalo Bats - Bad hitting paired with bad pitching = bad team. This team is awful. It already fired its Manager and is struggling to get going under Manager Budd Pluggh. The owner remains hopeful that the team will raise itself out of mediocrity but this wishes seem to be falling upon deaf ears.
After this I nominate Chico's Bail Bonds to take over the duties for next weeks power rankings.
